It is important not to lose perspective when running your business. Some business owners have the “It’s my way or the highway” mentality, which may work now but can really hurt them in the long run. Making things difficult for your customers, as well, as making it hard for your staff to be able to assist your customers, is just bad business. You may have a good reason for certain rules and procedures; but, if it interferes with productivity or customer relations, you want to look into alternative solutions.
Don’t forget, the whole reason a business exists is to serve its customers. Customers will always have other options and, if you have a monopoly, it’s only a matter of time before someone else will meet your customer’s needs. You need to change before your customer’s tell you “It’s my way or the highway!”
