We’ve all seen those infomercials that promise they will solve all of your problems, if you just pay $19.99 and shipping and handling. But the one thing they never forget to mention is their 100% Guarantee!
And there are several reasons for that, one being to show that they are confident in their product. Every salesperson, regardless of their product, must show confidence in what they are selling. Whether it is a product or service, a guarantee is a surefire way to express to a customer that you truly feel your product will solve their problems.
Another reason a guarantee is often used in selling is to ease any customer’s concerns over the potential losses they may accrue by using a product. Almost every sale has to deal with some kind of financial aspect. So, if you have the ability to tell your customer, “purchase my product or service and, if it doesn’t meet your needs, we’ll refund your money.” How much easier will the sale go?
If you don’t feel confident enough with your product or service to offer a guarantee, you may want to reevaluate why this is not a feasible option.
Don’t forget customer service is a big part of selling and marketing. By putting your customer’s mind at ease and letting them know you are there to help them, you can increase customer loyalty.
