SummerhelpIf you hire qualified employees age 16 or 17 for the summer, you may also benefit from a credit equal to 25 percent of the first $3,000 of wages (maximum credit of $750 per qualified worker).


Here are the requirements to qualify for the credit:

  • Must perform work for the employer between May 1st and September 15th
  • Must be between the ages of 16 and 17 on the hiring date (or by May 1st of the year involved)
  • Has not worked for the employer before
  • Lives within a Federal Empowerment Zone or Enterprise Community
